Test Corrections Unit 2

Overall, some great improvements from some people, but others still need a bit more help after staying close to a similar score on the past test.  Please remember that I AM HERE TO HELP YOU!  Some have yet to come by and see me to spend a bit of one-on-one time together tutoring, answering questions, etc.

Test corrections will begin on TUESDAY (tomorrow) morning.  The curve is 10 points.  Here is the schedule as follows:

  • Tuesday: morning (beginning around 7:35-7:40 ish), AO session, after school until 3:50
  • Wednesday: morning (beginning around 7:35-7:40 ish), after school until 3:50.
  • Thursday: morning (beginning around 7:35-7:40 ish), AO session, after school until 4:00
  • There will be no Friday test corrections because of my commitment to FCA on Friday mornings.
  • Monday: morning (beginning around 7:35-7:40ish), after school until 3:50
  • Tuesday: morning (beginning around 7:35-7:40ish),  AO, after school until 3:50.

Test correction RULES!!!!

  • IF YOU TAKE ANYONE ELSE’S TEST OUT OF THE FOLDERS FOR ANY REASON AT ALL YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE TEST CORRECTIONS!!!!!!!!!!  You may only search for your stuff while thumbing through the scantrons/tests IN THEIR FOLDERS only!!  Your busy schedule and your ability to complete test corrections is NEVER more important than any one else’s.  I will not tolerate you ruining someone else’s opportunity for test corrections because you are in a hurry and don’t clean up after yourself.
  • IF YOU MOVE ANY FOLDERS AT ALL, YOU WILL LOSE THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMPLETE TEST CORRECTIONS.  See reasoning above.
  • If you take my test out of the room, you will lose your ability to complete test corrections.
  • If you take a picture of my test, you will lose your ability to complete test corrections.

Debate Extra Credit

This assignment will actually be due on FRIDAY and not tomorrow since our test is tomorrow.

The written responses to the questions below will be due Friday.  The responses are to be THOROUGH- not a couple sentences long.

This will earn you 10 extra points on your lowest test grade (MCQ or FRQ)

  1.  What observations can you make about Hillary Clinton’s performance? What issues did she handle deftly (skillfully)? Where does she stumble?  Consider both substance and style.
  2. What observations can you make about Donald Trump’s performance?  What issues did he handle deftly (skillfully)? Where does he stumble? Consider both substance and style.
  3. In an election season marked by inflammatory rhetoric, what did you notice about the language the two candidates used?  What words or phrases stood out for any reason?  Why do you think the candidates used this language and what effect do you think it will have on voters?
  4. Which candidate do you think will be helped most by this debate, and why?

Labs due Monday

Remember your labs are due Monday.  Yugoslavia (breaking up is hard to do), demographic momentum, and gravity model.  We will randomly be selecting one of those labs to grade.

Click HERE for the questions on the Yugoslavia lab.  You can scroll down the previous Yugoslavia lab posts for the documents needed to answer the questions.  Please search in your notebooks for this BEFORE you redo the entire thing.  This should be in your notebook!
