Today we will be researching religious architectural styles.
- Roman Catholicism
- Protestantism (select two denominations)
- Eastern Orthodox
- Hinduism
- Sikhism
- Islam
- Judaism
You will be researching the architectural styles of these religions. For each religion you will find three pictures illustrating your research (therefore, you will need to type a word document). You will write a BRIEF explanation of the distinct architectural styles associated with each. Do not forget to research artwork within the buildings!
You need to read pp. 180-190 and complete a mapping activity. You need to print off a map of the world (you can use your own if you would like or print off a new one) and color in the major religions of the world as seen on pp. 184-185. It is important that you take the time to color it in yourself and do not use the computer or print a similar world map, because you will learn it as you take the time to color it. There may or may not be a need to have this in class tomorrow….just sayin’……
We had several absences today, so I figured I would put the link up of the FRQ we talked about in class.
